The small town of Carrenleufú receives each summer lovers who enjoy fishing and see the attractions of this activity in the Salmon Festival, an event that brings together athletes and visitors to enjoy the famous Pacific salmon.
Since 2007 Carrenlefú celebrates, a small town lying on the foothills of the Andes in Chubut province, the Provincial Pacific Salmon Festival during the first weekend of January.
There are three days of pure celebration in which they develop fishing competitions with valuable prizes in silver for the top three in each category. In addition, there are mountain bike competitions with trophies for the winners, calves and horses dressage, cowboy skills and a great folk dance with performances by local artists and from the neighboring country of Chile.
About 10 thousand people visit this festival every year, covering the various activities and food and artisans stands of the region that offer their products. Anyone who approaches this event will get the attention it deserves, either in accommodation, food or recreation places and the local tourism office provides free Internet service for anyone who requires this service.
The last day ends with musical shows after the expected election of the Queen of the Pacific Salmon, who has major gifts. Participate in this pageant ladies of all the mountain region and the province of Chubut, too.
