Winter activities in El Bolsón See map

The region of El Bolsón offers its stages to enjoy winter skiing and mountain activities. A few kilometers from El Bolson is the winter sports center Cerro Perito Moreno, which can be reached by 25 kilometers from the city center.

The Hill is a slope covered with beautiful forests of lengas and ñires that receive abundant rainfall, which become heavy snowfall during the winter. The same has a snow park where you can go skiing, snowboarding or mountain trekking you can do snow games, sleigh rides and snowshoeing.

Trekking in the snow and carved forest

The departure is from El Bolson, a transfer to Mount Piltriquitrón platform or to the highest point to allow the snow.

The walk starts at the Carved Forest to tour and appreciate the work, you climb to the Refuge where after lunch we continue up to the viewpoint from which you can see the Tronador and Tres Picos and the mountain valleys of the region including the Azul River and Lake Puelo. This route is in constant contact with the snow. The duration is 5 to 6 hours and is considered of medium difficulty. Includes round trip transportation, guide and lunch. For this activity you should take spare shoes, extra socks, sunglasses and warm clothing.

Snowshoeing

The snow igloo is one of the most innovative activities.

A new way to live the unique experience of exploring the forests of Patagonia in winter. In this mini trekking we depart from the city center by car to the ski resort Perito Moreno and, once there, you begin the journey on snowshoes with which you can feel the sense of "float on snow". In the ride you known species of flora and fauna in the area, view points, streams and beautiful corners of the hill. It lasts half a day, the difficulty is low and the price includes round trip transportation, guide and refreshments.

Snowshoeing to Piltriquitrón and lunch in a snow igloo

When the majestic mountain Piltriquitrón is dressed in white is time to put the rackets on. It starts from the center of El Bolson in 4X4 vehicle to ascend to the "Platform Piltri." From there begins the trek of about 1 hour to the refuge and then another 2 hours climb to the Plato. In the way you can find some ice igloo where lunch will be served.

After lunch and rested a bit you go down to the shelter where you can enjoy a delicious hot chocolate like a real mountain climbers.

The duration of this trip is a full day, the difficulty is medium and the rate includes 4x4 transportation back and forth, guide, lunch and refreshments.
