Things to do in El Chocón

Tanto en verano como en invierno, villa El Chocón, ofrece una amplia oferta de excursiones con la posibilidad de conocer la naturaleza profunda del lugar.

Existen diversos paquetes preparados exclusivamente para los visitantes. El primero propone conocer el Circuito Básico que incluye una recorrida por la villa, la oportunidad de ver de cerca las huellas de dinosaurios y contemplar el Complejo Hidroeléctrico.

La segunda opción es explorar el interior del Cañadón Escondido. Allí es posible observar las distintas capas de sedimentos que componen esta formación, huellas de distintos tipos de dinosaurios y una gran diversidad de atracciones geológicas y paleontológicas.

El tercer circuito en la villa es aventurarse hasta el acantilado “El gigante” y disfrutar durante una hora de la vista de abruptas formaciones rocosas teñidas de rojos y ocres.

Otros tesoros de El Chocón están custodiados por las paredes del Museo Paleontológico Ernesto Bachmann.

El Chocón Hydroelectric Complex The hydroelectric plant of El Chocón is located at the northern end of the artificial lake Exequiel Ramos Mexía. The dam was built for the purpose of flood control of rivers, reduce the effects of prolonged downspouts, increase the areas under irrigation and generate electricity.

Escondido Canyon in El Chocón 3 kilometers from El Chocón it is the Escondido Canyon, a canyon where you can learn more about the past in these lands and that inside it you can see dinosaur footprints in different positions.
