Puerto Deseado is definitely a paradise for those who like to see marine wildlife. The blue sea, deep, adjacent to their coasts, gives a spectacular sighting to better enjoy the experience.
Cape Blanco, more than 80 km from the town, and its colony of fur seals, is one of those favorite spots. Also the ria Deseado. But, near the town there is another equally attractive site like the others, where the chirping of birds transimite a unique feeling of peace. This is precisely the De los Pájaros Island.
In this island is located a nice colony of Magellanic penguins and seagulls. There is also a significant number of black oystercatcher nests and steamer duck (Tachyeres patachonicus).
The site has an area of high vegetation where nests at high densities the penguin, so it is of great importance the protection of these shrubs.
