Villa La Agostura has fascinating mountain bike competitions and circuits some more challenging than others. This is the case of the Double Ruca Malen that is disputed since 2007.

The "Double Ruca Malen" Bike Rally, held in December, is a career that has its setting in a mountain landscape, where its characteristics are those that offer the challenge.

Riders in the region and from around the country prepare for this challenge that consists of 60 kilometers of land with terraces that offer in each case a special challenge. The start and arrival will be at the Plaza of the Pioneers.

The categories that can participate are Junior, Women (only category) and Men 19 to 29 years, 30 to 39 years, 40 to 49 and 50 and older. There is also a promotional category with a distance of 30 kilometers.

More bike

There are other competitions that are held along the year such as the Cross Mountain Race or the now famous K42.

For those who are afraid of competition and just want to enjoy to stay at Villa La Angostura have the possibility of cycling watching different landscapes, lakes and rivers that surround this beautiful city.

Tours that can be made:

  • Quetrihue Peninsula and Myrtle Forest: The tour is 25 km and takes between 6 and 8 hours.
  • Viewpoint in the old way to Lake Espejo: 6 km along paths that traverse an old forest , you reach the viewpoint where you can enjoy a spectacular view of Lake Espejo. The total route is 25 km.
  • Bonito river waterfall and Cerro Bayo. You cover 9 km of trails through the woods to get access to Cerro Bayo, where you take a gravel road for 6 km to arrive at the waterfall.
  • The road to Seven Lakes: this route is 110 km. It is done in 3 or 4 days and is considered to have a  medium to high difficulty.
  • Belvedere viewpoint and Inacayal waterfall: After a demanding climb of 1.5 km you reach the Belvedere lookout point from where you get a spectacular view of the lakes Correntoso and Nahuel Huapi.
  • Selva Triste and Correntoso River: Selva Triste is a lagoon surrounded by a lush forest of coihues, radales, cypresses and myrtles, among others. The route is 10 km and lasts half a day.
