Since 1972, with interrupted periods, the city of Lamarque makes the National Tomato and Production Festival honoring the producer of that crop, main economic activity of the locality. Furthermore, it is considered the biggest party that has the Middle Valley and it is developed in the month of March.
Initially, this event was declared as Provincial Festival by provincial decree, but from 1994 it joined permanently to the list of National Festivals and today is considered one of the largest gathering of the province.
During the three days of the festival attendees can enjoy a variety of activities, among which stands the traditional "Tomatina". It consists of a tomatoes war that calls for hundreds of participants of all ages.
Sacues and packers contets are also being made, you can stroll through the craft fair and appreciate musical performances, the choice of the queen and fireworks.
Each edition also has the presence of prominent artists recognized nationally and regionally to the delight and enjoyment of those present.
The 2011 edition had as novelty the draw for two cars 0 km. In addition, during the festival, the Paleontological Museum of Lamarque organized a thematic exhibition called "Dinosaurs Alive".
