As from the beginning of the XXI century (specifically 2003) it have been held two competitive and traditional events in the Cerro Catedral: History Race and Journalists Race carried out in September.
Race History is a classic race that recreates the skiing forms of pioneer in the field. In those days there were no lifts, the cold backup was made with seal skins and each skier had to walk to the summit to enjoy sliding on snow.
The essence of this meeting is to share again the experience of joy this snow sport. These pioneers are witnesses of the growth of skiing as a sport and some were Argentine Olympic representatives (mostly inspired by Catalina Reynal, driving the ski schools registered in the area). In the History Race is recreated the way of skiing by tables skiing, goggles and clothing of the time. It is an event in which everyone seeks in the trunks of their homes to give color to match.
In the Journalist Race workers in the local, regional and national media are present. The meeting's objective is to entertain and invite them to have a good time with colleagues.
It is a symbolic competition which rewards the top three participants in each category: ladies and gentlemen in skiing and snowboarding men.
