Villa Pehuenia is the scene of Patagonian Chef Festival which brings together producers and wineries exhibitions of the region and the province to show itselfs to the community and all visitors attending the meeting.
During May this festival is carried out with the same essence: to revalue the local and regional cuisine in its most varied tastes.
The goal is to promulgate the food of the region through the preparation and tasting of regional products and dishes. In addition this event has become a space for social interaction, cultural and professional.
Undoubtedly, the main attractions of the Festival are tasting and cooking classes that are free admission to facilitate the participation of residents and tourists.
They enjoy a local ancestral cuisine using local products and also see elaborations from various wine cellars of Neuquen and Río Negro, coffee, craft beer, cheeses, mushrooms, smoked products, among others.
In previous editions have been promoted products made with piñones (central product of reciepies), blue-green eggs from araucana chicken, mushrooms born in the forests surrounding the village and even quinoa brought from across the mountains by a group of women of the Chilean community in Melipeuco.
The godmather of the event, Dolli Irigoyen has also participated on several occasions. She is chef, culinary consultant and tireless seeker of products, flavors and regional recipes in Argentina. Also participated other guest chefs as Christophe Krywonis and Osvaldo Gross, who lead programs on Gourmet channel.
