In the province of Río Negro you can take a tour of wineries in the region. In the so-called Río Negro Upper Valley, birthplace of the largest river in Patagonia, is combine a productive centenarian tradition with exceptional natural conditions for the development of high quality wines.
For tourists and residents of Patagonia know each place where wines are made created the Civil Wine Route Association of Río Negro. As in the region of Cuyo in Argentina, Patagonia area is also winemaking tradition.
This region has a dry continental climate with little rain, good sun and winds that accompany the maturation of the grapes. From General Roca to Cipolletti the route can be done in the following order:
Nestled in Cipolletti, this winery is considered a museum dating back to 1910 and is currently managed by family Herzig third generation. Since the late nineteenth century this European immigrants decided to bet on this family project and work with the wine industry in the Upper Valley. Today is a museum open to the curious tourist with avid legends.

Estepa winery is located in Fernández Oro on National Route No. 22 at Kilometer 1208. According to its owners, the winery is a small family winery dedicated to producing wines of medium and high level. Their wines that have won major awards, are of great originality and market are mainly in Patagonia and the outer.
The grape harvest is done in two places where the winery has planted. One in the Upper Río Negro Valley and other in the area of the Patagonian steppe, hence its name. Each has different characteristics: in the first one the weather is warmer and the plantation system is the trellis. In the area of the steppe in the south bank of Negro River where the climate is very dry and very rough land, is located "La Agreste" farm with more than 100 hectares of nontraditional vineyards to which is preferably access by rafting.

Is located in the Chacra 186 in General Roca. Canale winery is one of the oldest in Patagonia, a pioneer in winemaking for the country and the world and retains its historic heritage combined with modern technology.
The fourth generation of the first producers who started this project of the engineer Humberto Canale is wornking in its facilities.
Visits to the winery means a tour of the vineyards, then through the rooms where the casks, vats and barrels of French oak and bottling industry knows and processing. At the end of the tour can do a tasting at the wine museum which houses ancient elements and tools. For those who request courses are held tastings and lunches for groups of people. Agrestis
The vineyards and winery Agrestis is located 3 kilometers from General Roca, on Calle Gobernador Castello 1800. Agrestis winery is responsible for the natural sparkling wines using the traditional method of fermentation in bottles and varietal wines. NG Nature is the brand of sparkling wines, a cut of 90% Chardonnay and Pinot Noir 10%, and the name of Agrestis known Pinot Noir, a varietal 100% aged in French oak and bottled unfiltered.
Like many wineries Agrestis started with a bet on the family market with its first vines imported from France. As in the rest of the wineries there are guided tours, tasting and lunch, all by reservation at (02941) 15641269.
It is located only four blocks from the entrance to General Roca, Julio Argentino Roca Avenue, crossing the National Road No. 22 to the height of the detachment of Police, KM 1176.
The winery is modeled on the indigenous people to name their wines and do homage to their culture. In this sense its varietal wines are called Konantü - Setting Sun and WÜNN- Rising Sun.
