After the summer holidays, Easter is perhaps the last "escape" before starting the year with all the routine, a weekend that is used worldwide for families to enjoy.
The province of Chubut has a significant diversity of environments, leading to the presence of multiple natural and cultural attractions, causing a variety of tourist services and activities that position it at an important place in tourism nationally and internationally.
Equipped with different geographical environments like mountains, plateau and coast, whose characteristics are very different and unique, the Chubut province offers a wide variety of landscapes and alternatives that are ideal for relaxation and enjoyment.
Among the main attractions in the mountains are: the National Parks Los Alerces and Lago Puelo, Provincial Protected Areas Nant y Fall and Lago Baguilt, The Old Patagonian Express "La Trochita" (tourist train), the Centre for Mountain Activities La Hoya, privileged areas for sport fishing as areas of Corcovado, Río Pico, Alto Río Senguer, among others.
In the area of the plateau are characterized: the Natural Protected Area Piedra Parada, geological formations in the area of Los Altares and the Petrified Forest of Sarmiento.
In the coastline area are outstanding Protected Natural Areas of Valdes Peninsula, declared Natural Heritage of Humanity (by UNESCO), Punta Tombo, the continental world's largest reserve of Magellan penguin and Coastal Marine Park Patagonia Austral of great importance for productivity and biodiversity.
You can also see part of Welsh culture, who populated much of the province of Chubut, in the mountains in Trevelin or in Gaiman, Rawson, Trelew on the lower Chubut River valley. Cities where you can discover the architectural style of the Welsh or enjoy the traditional tea with delicious cakes.
Stretching over the Patagonian coast, near the city of Rawson, Playa Unión offers one of the most fascinating natural spectacles: the dance of the Commerson's dolphins to boats leaving from the port of Rawson. This friendly dolphin species displays its charms a few meters away from the beaches, making it one of the main attractions in the region.
Playa Unión also attracts to the practice of outdoor sports like long walks on pristine beaches watching the beautiful landscape that draw the diaphanous blue water and sky, or more adventurous water sports like kite surfing, windsurfing and surfing.
Comodoro Rivadavia is another destination to visit. It is known as the "National Oil Capital" for being the first place where oil was discovered in the country in 1907. It is a city with excellent hotels and restaurants, as well as places of leisure and recreation: many dance cafes, cinemas, theater, casino, shops, cultural tours and several historical buildings that express a tradition of progress. The museums are an important cultural, archaeological, paleontological and industrial economy display of the city.
The city is the gateway to the Bi-Oceanic Corridor. The port of Comodoro is a picturesque place designed to receive large ships and harbor a significant number of sea lions and many species of birds. In the imposing Cerro Chenque is the viewpoint that offers a magnificent panoramic view of the city, the port sector and the sea horizon.
Farm tourism: You can take guided tours to various production facilities. There, visitors can enjoy crafts and learn how they are made. The menu is extensive, from homemade cheeses, fine fruit, canned mushrooms, hydroponics, to sweets and artisan liquors, among others.
