Round trip tour: 1 hour
Type: lakeside
Duration: 1 / 2 day
Excursion from the city dock sailing toward the base of the Mirador del Traful, where you can appreciate the magnitude of the wind action and grandeur of the place. We cross the lake to the northwest up to Grande peninsula and from there navigate the northern margin about 2000 meters until arriving at the cliffs that fall sheer to the lake.
Among the significant caves highlights the cave which houses a statue of the Virgin Stella Maris, the patron saint of fishermen. The navigation continues for about 10 minutes and reaches the Sunken Forest, a unique mass of cypress that in the past would have slipped from the surface to sit on the lake bed. The formation of 60 cypress trees, retains much of its structure: trunk and branches are clearly present and can be seen perfectly due to the transparency of the water. The bark has faded due to water erosion. It is a very particular place that annually attracts groups of divers in order to cross it in drops of up to 30 meters. This tour can be done in conjunction with the visit to the lakes Las Mellizas.
The choice of diving through the sunken forest is only for those who have passed training courses. You can make the trip to the forest separately, it is recommended the departure in the mid-morning from the village to reach the submerged forest in the midday sun.
The declines should be done carefully because the bed of the lake is very irregular. There is a high visibility that allows us to observe the sunken forest while observed many trout that inhabit the trees.
