From San Martin de los Andes, take National Route No. 234 to the north. Then take left onto Provincial Route No. 48. 8 km from the start of the trip itself, we find the so-called Pampa de Trompul, showing the stone of the same name (800 m) which, according to tradition, thunders strongly when it announces storm in the area impacting the sound in the surrounding valleys.
Continuing the trip, 20 km up later the Park Ranger Yuco. Upon entering the same accessing there is a daytime recreation area with tables, benches, barbecues and beaches, where fishing is also permitted. Water sports and motor boating is not permitted. 12 km away from Yuco you reach the area called the Angostura, where the lake Lácar empties its water to Lake Nonthue, and after another 4 km you will arrive to Hua Hum whose name means "humid and rainy" or "hole in the roof "in the Mapuche language.
Located on the Lake Nonthue ("place of passage") from where the Hua Hum river starts, and after crossing the border with Chile is called Pirihueico ("place of snow and water) and empties into the lake of the same name.
If you want to continue with a tour the Provincial Route No. 48 crosses into Chile through the border cross Hua Hum. This is the least height of the Andes and is open all year, in Chile must continue the journey via a ferry that crosses Lake Pirihueico. Once there you can backtrack or return through border cross Tromen.
