Sailing lake Lácar See map

In San Martin de los Andes you can navigate the waters of Lake Lácar at any time of year. You have the choice of two trips to different destinations, one arrives to the beaches of Quila Quina and the other to the dock in Hua-Hum passing by Lake Nonthué.

Destination: Quila Quina

The tour is available all year but in the summer the boat is use for transportation, this means that it departures more frequently and there is no guide on the ride. It takes half an hour to get to Quila Quina but in the way you can see the beaches Catritre, La Islita, Playa Blanca, and the surrounding hills: Abanico, Colorado and Piedra de Trompul.

In Quila Quina there is a cafe, a restaurant, two camping and craft stalls. On the beaches and around you can do activities such as horseback riding, visits to cave paintings or the waterfall of Arroyo Grande, biking, fishing, boating and rides four-wheel drive vehicles.

Destination: Hua Hum

This tour departs from the dock around noon, and runs through lakes Nonthué and Lácar and then arrive to Hua Hum river, returning nearly 20 hours.

Passing the "Paraje Trompul" in which live Mapuche communities, we reach Yuco where you can see Los Patos and Santa Teresita islands and the Park Ranger House from the boat.

After 3 hours of travel leads to Lake Nonthué to disembark at the dock of Chachín, an ancient wood. There, on a tour through an interpretive trail of about 30 minutes you reach the waterfall Chachín with a drop of almost 30 meters.

Back on the boat trip continues until the dock of Hua Hum where there is a beach and camping area and a restaurant.

In the return you can see the ports of Pucara and Ruca Ñire ancient wood settlements and you made a new landing, this time on Santa Teresita Island in which makes a walk to the Capilla de Santa Teresita del Niño Jesús y de la Santa Faz in which the pioneers came to celebrate their nuptials.

The tour ends where it began, the dock in Lácar shore.
