End of the World Train

A small narrow-gauge railway has become the meeting point for thousands of tourists who come in search of adventure.

It departs from Municipal Camping and borders the Pipo River. Then makes a first stop where you can see the reconstruction of huts made by the Onas aborigenes and a small waterfall with crystal clear water running down from the mountain.

The journey continues and goes through the Tierra del Fuego National Park while you enjoy a beautiful landscape that combines rivers, waterfalls, mountains and forests, impossible to assess by other means. The locomotive and the cars are real works of art. 

End of the World Museum

Located at Avenida Maipú 177. The building was built in 1903 to serve as a private house of Mr. Manuel Valdez, then the Secretary of the Interior. Then it was acquired by the Banco de la Nacion Argentina and Ushuaia branch worked there until 1978. On May 18, 1979 it was remodelled inside, inaugurated the End of the World Museum.

It has a bird room with samples of all species on the island. There are expositions of Indian artifacts and others belonging to explorers and missionaries, stamps and gold coins minted by Julio Popper (and the furnace that melted them) and the figurehead of the ship Duchess of Albany. It also has a library of unique and great value.
